Well, Team, we did it. Last night we crossed the finish line of the second annual American Guide Week. We upended the Gatorade cooler on ourselves at midnight and exchanged awkward high fives.

There were fantastic dispatches from all 50 states (shakes fist in direction of American Samoa, Guam, Northern Marianas, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands) and we can’t even begin to say how blown away we were by the quantity and, more importantly, quality of posts. Hope you enjoyed them as much as we did.

Everyone that contributed a dispatch will be put into the hat for a drawing to win one of two beautiful barn coats generously supplied by Tennessee’s venerable Pointer Brand. We’ll be randomly selecting two names later today.

In the meantime, please email us at if you submitted a dispatch before midnight EST last evening and didn’t have at least one of your posts featured or re-blogged on The American Guide.

If you joined the A/G as a reader or contributor during the past week, we hope you’ll stick with us. We’ve got an ever-growing roster of incredibly talented Guides from all over the country and we publish a new dispatch at least once a day, Monday through Friday.

Over the next couple of days, we’ll continue to re-blog and feature dispatches that arrived during American Guide Week. Hang around - there’s good stuff aplenty waiting in the wings.

Let us know what you thought about American Guide Week and if you have suggestions for next year over on our Facebook page or via Twitter @americanguide

A big thanks to everyone who sent in a post and/or supported the folks who did.

Cheers, America!
